History - George Davison School

George Davison is an Elementary (ELP-Grade 6) school located in Medicine Hat, AB, Canada.  It opened it's doors in 1982.  The school was named after George H. Davison who was a member of the Medicine Hat School District #76 from 1930-1970.  He was a teacher from 1930-1940 and then Secretary/Treasurer from 1946-1970.  Mr. George Davison was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England and came to Canada in 1918.  He attended Medicine Hat High School, married Eva L. Morris (also a former teacher) and together they had one son.

2. Appointment as Secretary Treasurer Emeritus, MHSD76, 1969
3. Distinguished Service Award - Council of School Administration, 1970
4. Honorary Life Membership - Alberta Teachers' Association, 1973
5. Honorary Life Membership - Board of Elders, Fifth Avenue United Church, 1975
6. Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Medal, 1977
7. Cultural Service Award, Province of Alberta, 1978
8. Honorary Life Membership - AB Fire Chiefs' Association, 1982
9. Paul Harris Fellowship - Medicine Hat Rotary Club, 1982
