A 7 Habits School

7 Habits for Highly Successful People

Our school has been learning about the Seven Habits. We have had numerous assemblies to help the students to learn the Seven Habits and to help the students put these valuable life lessons into practice.

Habit 1: Be Proactive: Being proactive means taking initiative, not waiting for others to act first, and being responsible for what you do. The opposite of proactive is reactive. Reactive people react to what goes on around them. Proactive people act based on principles.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind: Think things through. We think beyond the present to consider implications of our actions in the future.

Habit 3: Put First Things First: We endeavor to set proper priorities, to make wise choices, and to keep a proper perspective.

Habit 4: Think Win/Win: We look for ways to be kind and considerate while finding solutions, answers, and approaches that can make everyone feel happy and valued.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood: We practice empathetic listening where we try to listen for understanding rather than to formulate our own responses.

Habit 6: Synergize: Principles of Creative Cooperation: We choose to collaborate to achive results that simply cannot be found on our own.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw: Principles of Balanced Self-Renewal: We include activities that promote a sense of physical, emotional, social, mental, intellectual, and spiritual renewal.
